Assault on Lifeguard Team at Malpe Beach

Malpe, 09 May 2024: A group of six people was informed by Lifeguard Teja Kotian alerting dangerous waves at the beach but group disregarded and continued further to swim  crossing the marking swimming zone boundaries.

 

 

Despite the safety warning, the group continued to play in the sea, prompting Lifeguard Kotian to intervene. However, instead of cooperating, the group members attacked Lifeguard Kotian, putting his safety at risk.

 

Following the assault, other lifeguards and Homeguards present at the scene attempted to apprehend the assailants as they fled in a Swift Maruti car with license plate number KAO4 AD8286. The incident has been officially reported to the Malpe Police Station, and a case has been filed regarding the matter.
