Adani Foundation donates 2 Vehicles – Swachataa Vahini to Bada Grama Panchayat under CSR

Udupi, 10 Jan 2024: Adani owned Adani Power Limited – Udupi TPP, which is operating thermal power plant in Yellur village of Kaup Taluk, Udupi District, in hands with Adani Foundation, handed over two vehicles at a cost of Rs. 15 lakhs to Bada Grama Panchayat under Infrastructure Development Scheme of company’s CSR. Kishore Alva, President & Executive Director of Adani Group, formally handed over the vehicles’ keys to Shivakumar, President of Bada Grama Panchayat at the premises of Grama Panchayat office.

 

 

Handing over the vehicles’ keys, Kishore Alva informed that as per the annual action plan of Bada GP for the year 2023-24, Adani Foundation has utilized the CSR Grant of Rs. 15 lakhs and purchased 2 numbers of CNG vehicles for handing over to GP for the purpose of collecting and disposing of waste. Informing that proper waste management is crucial for sustainable and clean communities, Kishore Alva welcomed the decision of Bada GP to include the waste management proposal in Panchayat’s annual action plan. He informed that Swachcha Grama – Sundara Grama - Aarogya Grama. He further told that Adani has declared the special grant for 7 GPs including Bada GP exclusively for Infrastructure Development works, as per the advice of District Administration, in addition to the social development works under education, health and promotion of rural sports, art and culture. He expressed happiness that all the 7 GPs are providing their annual action plans in a systematic manner, taking all the villagers and members into confidence and that the action plan is smoothening Adani Foundation in implementation of development works. As on todayAdani Foundation has executed development works worth Rs. 1.20 crores in Bada GP, Alva added.

 

Shivaprasad, president of Bada GP, appreciating the CSR activities of Adani Foundation, informed that today’s Swachavahini provided by Adani Foundation, will go a long way in making the village neat, clean and healthy. He appealed that it is the responsibility of every resident of the Grama Panchayat to keep their surroundings neat and clean and support the vision of Swacha Bharat. He said that Adani’s CSR is a boon to the surrounding villages as the company is delivering the CSR benefits to all the corners of villages.
