Udupi: Municipal team seizes 62 kg single-use plastic from shops in city

Udupi, 10 Aug 2023: Municipal officials of Udupi on August 9, Wednesday raided several shops in the city and seized 62 kg of single use plastic and also imposed fine on the shopkeepers selling banned single-use plastic.

 

 

The officials also warned the shopkeepers that their license would be cancelled if they continue using the banned plastic.

 

It may be recalled here that a team of municipal officials had seized 324 kg single use plastic and had levied Rs 58,200 fine last month.
