Mangaluru, 08 Jul 2022: As schools and colleges in the district have remained closed throughout this week, after the district administration declared holiday in view of heavy rains, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, Dr Rajendra K V has asked educational institutions to adjust the backlog lessons by conducting classes during public holidays.

Holiday has been declared for educational institutions since Monday following a Red Alert issued by the Weather Department. The measure was taken to ensure safety of school children particularly when roads are water logged and drains are overflowing.
