Congress protests against resignation of DC Sasikant Sentil; demands probe

Mangaluru, 07 Sep: Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee staged protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office, here on Friday, September 6, against resignation of DK Deputy Commissioner Sasikant Sentil.

 

DC Sasikant resigned owing to pressures that he had experienced in recent days from both federal and Karnataka state government.

 

 

In his resignation letter, Sasikant stated that he was worried over degeneration of democratic values in the country and foresees further worsening of situation in coming days.

 

MLC Ivan D’Souza and other Congress veterans demanded impartial investigation into what led DC Sasikant to tender his resignation.

 

The protesters raised slogans against union and state government.
