Consumer Day and Christmas Observed in St. Lawrence Composite PU College, Moodubelle

Moodubelle, 24 Dec: National Consumers Day  and Christmas celebration were observed in St. Lawrence Composite PU College, Moodubelle on Monday, 24 December 2018 at 2 pm in the PU College Hall. Mrs. Sunitha Kamath, Headmistress of the high school presided over the programme. Mrs. Felcy D’Souza, Manager of St. Milagres Credit Cooperative Society of Karwar was the chief guest. Harold D’Souza, Director of the Consumer  Club and President of the Club  Ganesh were also present on the dais.

 

Ganesh welcomed the guests by offering them flowers. Harold D’Souza conducted ‘Lucky Coupon’ competition for the students. Mrs. Felcy D’Souza distributed prizes for the winners.

 

Speaking on this occasion, Mrs. Felcy D’Souza said that consumers should be careful while purchasing various commodities as there are possibilities of adulteration, cheating and charging more than what was required by law. She also made an appeal to the students to avail education and understanding about consumers rights and help others in spreading the awareness. 

 

Sharon Dhondya, Vice President of the Consumer Club  spoke on the ‘Rights of the Consumers’. Ganesh spoke on the various practices of cheating that take place in the market. 

 

Shavya and group presented a skit on the consumers rights at the saree shop and Rahul and group presented another skit related to the hospital and medical shop.

 

Mamata proposed the vote of thanks and  Soundary compeered the programme.

 

 

Christmas Celebration

Chrsitmas was celebrated by the students of St. LawrenceComposite PU College, Moodubelle on Monday, 24 December 2018. The programme was presided over by Naveen Correa, Principal of St. Lawrence PU College. Charles Quadros, retired office superintendent  of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School and his son Clive Quadros who presently pursuing Legal Education at Bangalore were the chief guests. Teacher John Castelino, PU College stuent leader Santoosh and High School student leader Gratian Sequeira were on the dais.

 

Harold D’Souza welcomed the guests. Charles Quadros conveyed Christmas message to the stuents. Naveen Correa explained the meaning of Christmas to the students.

 

 

Gratian Sequeira proposed the vote of thanks.

 

Cultural programme related to Christmas including Christmas Carols were presented by the students.
