‘Kavya Kusumagalu’, a collection of poems by Suguna Shetty was released by Sandhya Shenoi, the famous satire writer from Udupi in Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samithi Hall on Sunday, 29 August 2010. Rajya Prashasthi Winning teacher-Nempu Narasimha Bhat presided over the function. Meti Mudiyappa, principal of Government OU College, Malpe introduced the poetess and the collection of her poems.
While inaugurating the BJP Yuva and Mahila Morcha of Kote-Katapadi villages in Shri Nityananda Hall at Katapadi on Sunday, 29 August 2010, the BJP president of Udupi District, Udaya Kumar Shetty said that if the party organisation has to spread, then the party grass-root workers should actively work among the common people. He further said that, the local committees are relevant if they succeed in getting their party candidates elected right from the grama panchayat level to the national level as the members of the parliament.Lalaji R Mendon, BJP MLA of the Kaup Constituency said that if all members of BJP work in unity the party organisation would grow strong. During this occasion, the newly elected BJP supported members of Kote-Katapadi Village Panchayat were felicitated.
A large number of Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samith members from Mangalore and udupi participated in the three day programme of Onam at Mata Amritanandanmayi Mission Trust at Amritapuri in Kerala. The group was led by Udupi Mata Amritanandanmayi Seva Samithi president-Shridhar Kinnimulki, chief secretary Navin PAT, secretary Bhavani Shankar, Yogish, Sujit Suvarna, Nagraj and vice presidents-Tara Suvarna and Vedavati.
