Mass Weddings at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala on May 2

Beltangady, 18 Feb 2014: Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala will be organizing mass weddings at Dharmasthala, here on Friday May 2.

 
Dr D Veerrendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala had begun the free mass weddings in 1972, with the view of avoiding lavish spending on dowry and nuptials that was a burden on economically-weaker families.  Since then, 11,465 couples wedded during the mass weddings held at Dharmasthala, near here.

 

 
Each couple will be provided with wedding dress and mangalasutra.

 
The interested couples are advised to register their names at the registration office in Dharmasthala as early as Monday April 28.
