Hassan: Dr S M Shekar, Registrar of Gangubai Hanagal University Bags Govind Das Award

Hassan, 12 Dec 2013: Dr M S Shekar, Kannada litterateur and registrar of Gangubai Hanagal Music University, Mysore was chosen to confer state level Govind Das Award.  The Award comprises Rs 5,000 and a citation letter.

 

 

 
Dr Shekar bagged the award for his researched book ‘An integral book on Govind Das’s literary contributions’.  The late Govind Das’s son Niranjan Das Rajban instituted the Award a year ago.

 

 
The selection Committee included K T Shivaprasad, Subbu Holeyar, Dalit Sahitya Parishat state president Arjun Golasangi, C Suvarna and RPI Satish.

 

 
The award will be conferred during the first ever district Dalit Sahitya Sammelan scheduled to be held at Ambedkar Bhavan, here on Sunday December 15, stated Dalit Sahitya Parishat Hassan district unit president Hettoor Nagaraj.
