- Fight for injustice enters sixth day
Mangalore, 22 June 2010: Gregory Patrao along with the members of various organisations supporting him met the Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh on Monday, demanding change of investigating officer to look into his land issue.
Based on a private complaint filed by Gregory with the Junior Magistrate First Class Court, Assistant Commissioner of Police D G Bhandary visited Gregory’s land at Kalavaru on Monday, along with two Assistant Investigating Officers.
However, Gregory said that he and his supporters have little faith that Bhandary will hold proper investigation and make way for justice.
“While the ACP was collecting personal statements from my mother, one of the supporters was helping my 80-year old mother recall the names. The ACP took exception to this and walked away half way through the investigation saying that he can not hold investigation because people are interfering,” said Gregory and added that from his behaviour it was evident that the ACP wanted to derail the proper conduct of investigation.
However, Gregory pointed that two Assistant Investigating Officer Sundar and Dinesh did a proper job by inspecting the land and preparing a report on the land.
