Udupi: State Athletic Meet – 4 Records broken on Final Day

Udupi, 17 October 2011: Another 4 records were created on Sunday the 3rd and final day of the 28th Junior and Senior Karnataka State athletic meet in Mahatma Gandhi Stadium Udupi. With this in the 3 days athletic meet the total number of records broken were raised to 12.
 
Under 14 years Boy’s Shot put competition Masood Ahmad of Alva’s Sports Club Moodbidri threw the metal ball 12.44 meters away and created a new record. With this the old record of 12.07 meter is broken.

 

 

 
Under 16 years Girl’s Discus throw competition Priyanka of Dakshina Kannada district Athletic Association threw the disc to 35 meter and broke the previous 33.83 meter record.
 
Under 20 years Girl’s Pole Vault competition Keerthi of Dakshina Kannada district Athletic Association jumped 2.35 meter high and created new record breaking old record of 2.3 meter.
 
Above 20 years Men’s Hammer throw competition Surendra Kumar of M.E.G. Central team wote a new record. He threw the hammer to 58.05 meter distance. The old record was 56.80 meter.
