London, 12 Aug 2012: Beijing bronze medallist Sushil Kumar has reached the semi-finals of the men’s 66kg freestyle wrestling of the London Olympics on Sunday.

He beat Uzbekistan’s Ikhtiyor Navruzov 3-1 to reach the last-4. He will now play Kazakhstan’s Akzhurek Tanatarov who beat Armenia’s Devid Safaryan 3-1.

In his pre-quarterfinal bout earlier in the day, Sushil beat Turkey’s Sahin Ramazan who won gold at the Beijing Olympics four years ago.

However, it wasn’t a good start for the Indian wrestler as he conceded the first period 1-0. The second period ended in a 0-0 tie, but Sushil won the toss and subsequently one point to take it. In the final period he was at his best to claim the match 3-1.
