Firing at Ponty Chadha’s farmhouse, brother killed

NEW DELHI: 17 November 2012: Ponty Chadha’s brother was killed and a security guard was injured on Saturday in a shooting incident at the liquor baron’s farmhouse in New Delhi, Times Now reported.

According to Times Now, unidentified people opened fire at Ponty Chadha’s farmhouse in Chattarpur area of South Delhi.

The deceased has been identified as Hardeep Chadha.

Delhi police officials have reached the shooting spot.

On October 5, a case of shooting had taken place inside Ponty Chadha’s ancestral home in Moradabad.

Who is Ponty Chadha??

The liquor baron whose premises had hidden crore of rupees was born in a poor family in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Gurdeep Singh Chadha alias Ponty Chadha used to sell snacks with his father in front of a country wine shop. The family’s fortunes started looking up when his father Kulwant Singh Chadha managed to get the licence of the shop.

They now have a bungalow, which was among the premises raided, and a cinema hall in Moradabad. Chadha took his first big leap first when former CM Mulayam Singh Yadav inaugurated his Wave mallcum-multiplex in Lucknow. His government allegedly gave several concessions to Chadha in the project.

But Chadha’s empire saw a spectacular growth after Mayawati handed over licences of ’plum’ regions in UP to him in 2009.
