Mumbai, 7 Jun 2014: Bhivandi – Badlapur regional Committee of Bantara Sangha Mumbai ® congratulated new union railway minister D V Sadanand Gowda, hailing from Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.


 
Meanwhile, the regional Committee president Dayashankar P Shetty and advisor Nadyoduguttu Bhaskar S Shetty, in a letter to minister D V Sadanand Gowda urged the latter to realize the long-pending demands of Konkan Railway (KR) users of Indian west coast, to upgrade most of railway stations with due emphasis on passengers comfort, to increase train services between Mumbai to Mangalore daily likewise of Shatabdi sexpress, to increase airconditioned coaches from 1 to 2, to discontinue cumbersome Tatkal training booking service, to withdraw the ticket reservation ahead of 60 days and find a just solution, to reimburse food charges in case first class ticket holders does not get berth and forced to travel in second class, to begin more train services between Mumbai, Bangalroe, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Mangalore, to begin new South Western railway region as per the assurances of BJP during the last general elections, to lay emphasis on cleanliness and hygiene in railway stations by maintaining more number of bathrooms, to assign RPF jawans in long distance trains especially running during nights, to curb unauthorized passengers during the nights getting access to reserved compartment in order protect the bonafide passengers from terrorists, to introduce efficient catering facility and to supply cheaper drinking water, etc.

 


 
Indian Railway is vital for the nation.  The regions en route of railway have progressed faster than other regions.  The Committee office bearers Dayashankar Shetty and Bhaskar S Shetty hope that union railway minister D V Sadanand Gowda will contribute for the regions success by developing infrastructure and announcing separate South Western region free from Palghat in Kerala.
