Riyadh: KWAR celebrates Int’l Mother’s Day by forming Ladies Wing

Riyadh, 15 May 2014: Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) celebrated International Mother’s Day in a meaningful manner here on Friday May 9.

It was a day out for all the ladies to spend valuable time among themselves with the fathers taking care of their children.
Different games were conducted for children by Nazeer Ahmed and group, such as picking the chocolate beads through straw; forming garland from paper clips and musical chair.  Rajiv Kamath and group held quiz competition. Parvez Ali conducted spot games for the gathering.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the ladies coming in, wearing the best out of their wardrobe.

 
The programme began with sumptuous buffet. All the Ladies huddled into their own world to celebrate the occasion with fun and games. Haseena Parvez Ali gave a meaningful talk on ‘Mother’ to the ladies.

 
It was for the first time that a separate Ladies Wing was formed and inaugurated on Mother’s Day with full-fledged office bearers and a working Committee.

Amitha Prabhu and other office bearers inaugurated the programme.

 
Amritha said that the Ladies Wing will serve as a platform for ladies to share their views and ideas and stressed on the importance of interaction, unity and understanding of respective cultures and traditions.

 
Nazia Nazeer welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of motherhood. The roses and Mother’s Day cards were presented to mothers by their children. 

 
Latha Rajesh felicitated mothers of our Karavali members who are on a visit to Riyadh. They are:  Indira B Tingalaya, mother of Yatiraj Malpe, Jalaja N Kunder, mother of Ritika Kamath, Varija P Poojary, mother of Satish Amin and Leena D’Souza, mother of Jyothi Mendonca. They were honored with bouquets and gifts.

 
Ashwini Kumar compered the function.

 

A wonderful cultural programme followed with songs, dances and skits by members and their children, was well appreciated and applauded.  Skits by Eric and group supported by Nagaraj Bajal were fabulous and enthralling. Audience feelings were evoked to songs dedicated to mothers. There were many songs and a dance performed by kids of different age groups. Rajesh Kumar compered the cultural event and prize distribution ceremony.

 
The highlight of the event was a PowerPoint presentation of individual families of lady members along with their children. It was a moment of emotion, sentiments and tears. This slide show was produced, directed and presented by Rajiv and Ritika Kamath couple.

 
Dr Vani Santhosh Shetty concluded the event by congratulating the newly elected ladies wing and thanking all the members who had put in their valuable time and efforts in organizing this grand event.

 
The programme concluded by singing Indian National Anthem.
