Moodubelle: Accident victim Girish Acharya (29) dies due to severe head injuries

Moodubelle: 11 September 2012: Girish Acharya(29) who met with tragic accident at Nellikatte as the city bus Sree Sathyanath, Jai Ganesh rammed into his bike as he was taking his nephew Pavan to Alevoor school on Monday, September 10, passed away at 5.45 pm on Tuesday, September 11 at KMC Hospital, Manipal.
Girish, was the second among three children of Ananth and Sumithra Acharya of Nellikatte. Eldest Harish Acharya and youngest Smt. Vaani Acharya are married, whereas Girish was unmarried and had been working at the Gayathri Woodworks at Alevoor.
On fateful Monday morning, Girish was on his way to Subhodhini Higher Primary School at Alevoor to reach his nephew Pavan (9) to school on his bike and fell victim to the ghastly accident as the city bus, Sree Sathyanath, Jai Ganesh driven by Vishwanath Acharya collided with his bike at Nellikatte, near Moodubelle in the morning at around 8.30 am.
The grievously injured Girish and Pavan were rushed to the KMC Hospital at Manipal and were admitted to the ICU. However, Girish succumbed to the severe head injuries in the evening of Tuesday, September 11. It is said that young Pavan is out of danger, but may have to undergo long period of treatment to recover.
