Death of IAS officer leads to postponement of II PU Math, Geography exam to March 28
Bengaluru, 17 Mar 2015: The II PUC Math and Geography examination which was scheduled to be held today across the State has been postponed to March 28.
The exams have been postponed following the death of IAS officer DK Ravi under mysterious circumstances.
Kolar and Tumkur has called for bandh on Tuesday to mourn the death of DK Ravi.
Though the bandh has been restricted to Kolar and Tumkur the exam has been put off across the State.
Speaking to Deputy Director of Pre-University Education K.R. Thimmaiah said "as no examination will be conducted in Tumkur and Kolar, the PU board decided to postpone the examination across the State. The decision of postponement was taken at 11 p.m on March 16."
Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement) D K Raviwas found dead at his official flat on March 16.
D K Ravi had hung himself from the fan in a room, Bengaluru Police Commissioner M N Reddi told reporters.
Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide," Reddi said. He said no suicide note had been found presently adding the officer had returned home around 11.15 am and the death must have occurred before evening, he added.
