Kuwait: KVWA celebrates Children’s Day

Kuwait, 07 November 2010: Kundapur Varado Welfare Association held its annual “Children’s Day” celebrations on 5th November, 2010 at “Salamiya Cooperative Marriage Hall”.

 

The program started at 12.00 noon with the opening prayer by Leena Rodriques. Well known dignitaries including Rev. Fr. John Harry D’souza, Mr. Charles D’sa, Mr. Juzar Ali and program sponsor, Mr. Archie Menezes were present at the function. The dignitaries were welcomed by the president, Mrs. Nancy Menezes with flower bouquets. The winner of Gulf Voice of Mangalore Gladis Lorena and runner up Warren D Souza in their respective cattgories were honored at thefunction. The audience were thrilled to hear a melodius sung by them.

 

Rev. Fr.Harry D’souza and Mr.Charles D’sa in their address to the audience appreciated the various achievements of KVWA towards the support and financial help provided to many needy people and children for their educational and other needs back home in India . The President Mrs. Nancy Menezes also presented the annual report highlighting the various achievements of KVWA to-date.

 

 

The audience was kept enthralled with lots of foot-tapping music by DJ Spinners and group dances by Ballerines and Desi Strikers. The compere, Mr.Mervin Pereira kept the audience lively and conducted enjoyable games for children of all age groups.

 

Everyone present enjoyed mouth-watering chicken nuggets and sausages served by Sadia Company. The guests were kept glued to the dance floor with lots of dance and spot prizes to keep them entertained throughout the program. There was a continuous media display of sponsor names. Everyone present enjoyed a delicious lunch by China Metro. This was followed by an interesting game of housie and gifts for the winners. The raffle draw had many exciting prizes which went out to the lucky winners.

 

The program came to an end with a vote of thanks by the Vice-President Mr.Donald Mendonca.
