Udupi: Thirty-fifth Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsav begins with devotion and enthusiasm at Moodubelle

Udupi/M’belle, 29 Aug 2014: Shri Ganesh Utsav organized by Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava Samiti:Belle-Kattingeri began with great devotion and enthusiasm in the Geeta Mandir, Moodubelle on Friday, 29 August 2014. Following the religious ritual of Gana Homa from 10.15 am, the idol of Shri Ganesh was installed on its pedestal at 11.30 am in the presence of the devotees and the office bearers and members of the Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samiti. The incessant rains did not dampen the spirit of the devotees as they came in large number to worship the deity.
The Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samiti of Belle-Kattingeri has been celebrating Shri Ganeshotsava since the last 34 years and this year happens to be the 35 year of the celebration. The religious and cultural festivities will be for a period of five days from 29 August to 2 September 2014.
A series of sporting and cultural competitions have been scheduled for the five days period of the festival. On Saturday, 30 August 2014 at 9 pm, Tulu comedy play “Yi Daaye Patheruja...?” will be staged. The play is written by Dinesh Acharya Ambagilu, directed by Kala Vaikhari Prabhakara Acharya, Edmeru and sponsored by s, Kukkudakatte, Kappandakarya, Moodubelle.
On Sunday, 31 August 2014 Maha Annasantarpanne will be arranged at 12.30 pm for the villagers.
On Monday, 1 September 2014 at 9 pm another hilarious Tulu play “Podyodchi Yaanulle...!” By Devidas Kapikad will be staged. This play is sponsored by Mrs. Jyothi and Rajendra Shetty and Mrs. Vijayalakshmi and Sudhakar Amin of Latha Stores, Moodubelle.
The procession for the immersion of the Shri Ganesh idol will commence at 5 pm on Tuesday, 2 September 2014 and at 8 pm the idol will be immersed in the pond at Thirlaplake.
