Udupi: District Admin offers Training to blind exercising Voting Rights in Assembly Election

Udupi, 17 Apr 2013: The provisions are being made for blind and visually impaired voters to exercise their franchisee in the upcoming assembly elections.  The training programmes are organized for the benefit of blind voters, to accustom themselves with the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) that has Braille prints, said zilla panchayat CEO S A Prabhakar Sharma.

 
Sharma was speaking during the information camp on Sweep progrmme that was introduced by Election Commission to encourage voters to exercise their precious votes, during a function held at Red Cross building, here on Tuesday April 17.

 

 
The district information and broadcasting officer M Junjanna, block education officer Ashok Kamat, district physically handicapped welfare officer Niranjan Bhat, Red Cross district treasurer Chandrashekar Devadiga were present at the occasion.
