Moodbidri: Youth stabs girl friend, ends life

Moodbidri, 02 August 2012: A youth stabbed his girl friend and later committed suicide, for rejecting his love, at Umaldottu of Borugudde in Moodbidri on Tuesday late night.

 

The deceased is Vishwanath (30), a resident of Bajpe Kolambe. The injured is Mamatha (22). She is recuperating in a hospital.

 

It was said that the duo were having affair for the last three years. Even the parents had agreed for their marriage. However, Mamatha had refused his love recently. Enraged over the incident, Vishwanath had visited the house of Mamatha and entered into her room and stabbed her. As he was frequently visiting the house, other members in the house did not oppose him.

 

After stabbing her, he had fled the spot and committed suicide by hanging in the nearby forest.
