Puttur: Woman poisons children, kills self

 

Puttur, 15 Mar 2015: A 29-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide at her residence by consuming poison after poisoning her children.

 

Shreemathi, a resident of Bellichadavu in Eshwaramangala village here is the deceased. Her daughters Ashitha (5) and Nishmita (3) are recovering at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru. The reason for Shreemathi to take such an extreme step is not yet ascertained.

 

Shreemathi had married a person by name Rajesh hailing from Moodigere in Chikkamagaluru district about seven years ago. Even after marriage, she continued to stay at her parental home with children. Rajesh, who is employed in Hassan, used to visit his family once a week.

 

A case has been registered at Puttur police station.
