Shirva: Massive sapling plantation organized by Lions Club

Shirva, 26 August 2011: If we have to live healthy, then the plantation should be abundant in the environment around us. But recently for various reasons the plantation is getting destroyed and most of the work of replacing them again has to be done by the students, said Lions District Governor Indrali Jayakar Shetty. He was speaking upon inaugurating the ‘Massive sapling plantation program’ organized by Lions Club Udupi in coordination with Vidhyavardhaka English Medium School Shirva on 24th August 2011.
 
The program was presided over by Indu Ramananda Bhat – President of Lioness Club. Ln. V. Subbayya Hegde – Secretary of Vidyavardhaka Sangha welcomed the guests and the gathering  and said that, in this plantation program, Lions Club Udupi has organized to plant one thousand saplings in the campus of Vidyavardhaka Sangha’s Education Society, and as a first phase 250 saplings are being planted, he said.

 

 
Ln. Rajagopal S. gave the introductory speech. Ln. Dr. Madhusoodana Hegde – Vice District Governor and Ln. MJF Shridhara Shenava briefed on this program of plantation of saplings. College N.S.S. Officer Prof. Vinobnath compeered teh program. Secretaty Ln. C.S. Rao proposed vote of thanks.
 
Udupi Lioness President Ln. Kanakalaxmi Rajagopala, Secretary Ln. Vijetha Shetty, Ln. Sumalini Shetty, Ln. Nirupama Shetty, Ln. Indira S. Hegde, Education Society Heads; Prof. Y. Bhaskar Shetty, Ganapathi Bhat and Prashanth Nambiar were present on the occasion.
