Mumbai: Bollywood Hero Akshay sets motion for Karthik Shetty’s Marathi Movie, Than..Than..Gopa

Mumbai, May 24, 2014 : Bollywood action here Akshay Kumar offered motion for ‘Than… Than…Gopal’ Marathi movie that will be directed by Karthik (Prajwal) Shetty, metro-settled native of coastal district in Karnataka, who has earned fame by directing popular Marathi movie, ‘Bhakti Hich Khari Shakti’ and acting in other movies, ‘Yuva’ and ‘Gandhi Nagara.’
Karthik is the son of Vijay B Shetty and Sulata Shetty couple, belong to lineage family of Nakre – Kadike in Karkal taluk of Udupi district. Om Ganesh Productions launched by Karthik will produce the Marathi movie, ‘Than… Than… Gopal’.
Akshay Kumar switched on the camera during the muhurat that was held at Rami Guestline Hotel, Juhu, Andheri (West) here on Friday May 23.
The movie is based on the script of Aditi Jagirdar, music by Amit Shete and the shooting will be held on rural villages that lie on the state boundaries of Maharashtra and Gujarat including metro, with plans to complete the shooting within one-and-a-half months, said movie director Karthik Shetty.
Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra ® president Chandrashekar Palettady, Dr P V Shetty, Mahesh Shetty, Prakash Shetty, Bhoja A Shetty, Yashodha B Shetty, Shantaram Shetty, Sriraj, Satish Shetty, actors Vishwajit Kumar Bangera, co-producer Vijay B Shetty and others were present during muhurat.
The movie will be presented by Silver Stallion Movietons, led by key producers Siddant Mahesh Shetty and Nidhi Prakash Shetty, with executive producers Srinivas Shinde and Rahul Pote.

It is good to see more and more Tulu speakers in Marathi entertainment industry. Tuluvas settled in Maharashtra speak fluent Marathi. Tulava comunity speak Tulu at home and Marathi and Hindi outside. Marathi films are rich in content and quality. Films are made with a purpose, subjects based in Marathi ethos that have universal appeal. Characters are realistic and the story touches your heart. I have seen Marathi films like Fandry, Dhag, Yellow, Timepass, Anumati, Deool and was amazed by the rich content. Marathi films should be sub titled and have a Pan Indian release. Compared to Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films, Marathi Cinema is way ahead. Marathi films should not compete with Hollywood or Bollywood on superstars and budgets because it is a lopsided battle. Instead Marathi films should be compared to Iranian and European cinema. Marathi films give Bollywood a run for their money on content not budgets! Even Marathi TV Serials are much better than Hindi soaps, maybe because of rich theater which is disciplined.Even non-Marathi speakers are watching Marathi films, TV channels.
