Abu Dhabi: ISC Presents Dances of India Mega Show to mark Indian New Year

Abu Dhabi, Apr 19: India Social and Cultural Center (ISC) organized a combined New Year celebration of Vishu, Ugadi, Nababarsha, Baisakhi, Maha Vishu Sankranti, Bihu, Varsha Pirappu and Gudipadwa here on Thursday April 17 at 8.30pm. New Year is being celebrated as per the calendars of different regions in India. As celebrated according to their culture which varies with the different states of India. As the culture differ, so does the art forms and dances.
The celebrations at ISC were organized by entertainment wing of ISC titled Dances of India. There were 14 different dance forms depicting different culture and relating to the respective New Year celebrations was presented.
ISC honorary president Natarajan explained how different communities in India celebrate their New Year.
ISC general secretary Vinod welcomed the gathering.
The certain forms of dance like Bihu, Sambalpuri etc are very rarely performed on UAE stages. Around 90 artistes were arrived from various parts of UAE to perform at ISC here. The audience got a rare chance to witness a wonderful dance forms together in a single event.
A large number of expatriates were present on the occasion.
