Goa: Musical Bonanza- a tribute to late Alfred Rose

Panjim, 25 April 2012: V Events presented Musical Bonanza- a tribute to late Alfred Rose to commemorate his 80th Birth Anniversary which falls on 5th August this year. The event was held at Kala Academy Hall, Panjim on 22nd April 2012.
The programme comprised of songs of late Alfred Rose rendered by Alfred Rose family and other artistes which had the support of Tiatr Academy of Goa. Music was provided by Lennoy Gomendes.
Alria D’Souza sang Suknnem Suknnem and Mog Mhozo Kortai. Anthony San belted Lovely Esther and Dudh Sagor. Pravin D’Souza (husband of Alria) rendered Viva La Goa and Lady from Goa. Tisca delighted the audience with I lost my heart to you. Young Chico presented Mandovi and Kampala whereas Junior Chico pleased the audience with Janet ani Linet. Kyra Pais (Rita’s brother’s daughter) entertained with Mhoji Grandma. Put ani Saspai was rendered by Rita Rose whereas she sang Jivit Goenkaranchem with Anthony San. Two comedy skits Bed-achea Pondak and Bail Sanddli by Hortencio Pereira and Bab Kenny were entertaining. It was very enlightening to hear Mummy Mhaka Vengent dhor by Alria and her son Ethan. Rajendra Deshprabhu the Jazz-piano expert beautifully displayed his histrionics on the key board.
On the occasion, an audio CD containing Lorna’s tribute to Alfred Rose was released at the hands of Mr. Francisco D’Souza Minister for Urban Development, Revenue & Craftman Training whereas Mr Glen Ticlo-MLA from Aldona released the Souvenir. The other guests were Felix Sequeira of Sequeira Homes, San Antonio D’Mello of Taught to Teach Academy, Elvis Gomes of Sports Authority of Goa and Tomasinho Cardoso ex-president of Tiatr Academy. The programme which was witnessed by a packed audience was well compeered by Daniel D’Souza.
