Bantwal: Kurnad gram panchayat holds mega peoples sensitization rally

Bantwal, 24 Jan 2017: At the joint aegis of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, Swacch Bharat Mission, Bantwal taluk panchayat, Kurnad gram panchayat and voluntary organizations, mega peoples sensitization programme on curbing banned plastic use and sold waste management was held at Government PU College, Kurnad, near here, on Monday, January 23.

 

Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat CEO Dr M R Ravi offered motion for the sensitization event, by handing over the flag to Kurnad gram panchayat president Shailaja Mittakodi.

 

 

The government officials of district, taluk and gram panchayat including elected representatives and villagers partaken in the rally that was held from Government PU College, Kurnad, near here to Mudipu bus stand, nearby.

 

The state food and civil supplies minister U T Khader partaken in the rally and sensitized the people on cleanliness and shunning plastic.

 

ZP member Mamata Gatti, TP president Chandrahas Karkera, vice president Abbas Ali, member Naveen Padalpady, ZP former member Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyar, Kurnad gram panchayat former president T G Rajaram Bhat, members Gopal Bangera, Geetha and Shivashankar Bhat, ZP deputy secretary N R Umesh, Bantwal taluk panchayat CEO Cyprian Miranda, Jana Shikshana Trust chairman Sheena Shetty, Swacch Bharat Mission – district unit co-ordinator Manjula R, PDO Dinesh Kumar, students of Government PU College, Kurnad  and others were present.
