Mangaluru: CM Siddaramaiah to lay foundation for Konkani Museum at Kalaangann on Apr 21

Mangaluru, 14 April 2016: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah will be laying the foundation for Konkani Museum that was the ambitious project of Mandd Sobhann, city-based organization striving to promote Konkani and its distinct culture worldwide, at Kalaangann, here on Thursday April 21 at 12.00pm.
The state forests, environment and ecology/Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai and state minister for heavy industries and tourism R V Deshpande will be the chief guests of the occasion.
The state Kannada and culture, child and women welfare minister Umashree, the state health and family welfare minister U T Khader, state urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, the state youth services and fisheries minister Abayachandra Jain, Karnataka former CM and Chikballapura MP M Veerappa Moily, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi – Chikmagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Luizinho Faleiro, Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty, Udupi MLA Pramod Madwaraj and Mangaluru north MLA Moideen Bawa, Karwal MLA Satish Sail, Bhatkal MLA Mankala Vaidya, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Mangaluru mayor Harinath, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino will be the guests of honor.
Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo will preside the programme.
