Udupi: Senior teacher Pundalika Marate Shirva gives up LPG Subsidy to support PM Modi’s call

Udupi, 12 May 2015: B Pundalika Marate Shirva, a senior teacher of St Joseph’s Higher Primary School, Belman given up his LPG subsidy to honor the call of PM Narendra Modi who sought the well-off citizens to give up their subsidy on cooking gas cylinders in order to enable fellow poor citizens to avail the state facilities.
Pundalika has surrendered his LPG subsidy pertaining to consumer number 4879 (Bharat Gas, Udupi) with effect from May 2015.
‘As I get salary that is sufficient to manage my family, I decided to give up my LPG subsidy as I am impressed by PM Modi’s concern for uplifting the poor. I believe, its taxpayers money that may be better used for social causes, said Pundalika to media persons.
