Mumbai: Students of over 34 Nations converge for World Scholars Cup hosted by Ryan Group

Mumbai, 20 Dec 2014: Ryan International Group of Education Institutions organized World Scholars Cup (WSC) – India Round at Ryan International School, Malad (West), here on December 18 and at concluded at Hotel Lalit, here on December 19.
Ryan Group managing director Grace Pinto said that the event has opened up new vistas for the students to develop their horizons to become responsible citizens, said Grace Pinto.
Ryan International Group of education institutions CEO Ryan A Pinto delivered the introductory address. Ryan Group directors Snehal Pinto, Sonal Pinto, COO Neti Srinivasan, K Anushka and teachers welcomed the dignitaries with flower bouquets.
Doris Rawal welcomed the gathering. Sudha Singh Noida and Margaret Coelho compered the programme. Shibani Sharma proposed vote of thanks.
World Scholars Cup
The World Scholars Cup is an International Academic Event for school children held in over 34 countries. It consists of 4 events: debate, collaborative writing, scholars bowl and a quiz. This is held in various themes - history, current affairs, arts, science, literature, special areas.
The theme for the India Round at Mumbai was ‘The World Within’ which was held for juniors (ages 11 to 14 years) and seniors (ages 15 years above).
This has become a highly anticipated event across the countries and is rapidly becoming the benchmark for academic prowess. There are no comparable events of this nature in the country or even out of it. There were several rounds – satellite, national, global and finale. The finale is held at Yale University every year. (Ryan Group will also host the 2015 Global Round)
All well-known schools send their best and brightest for this as this carries immense prestige amongst the community.
The India Round:
The India Round at Mumbai is being hosted by Ryan International Group of Institutions. Ryan became associated with the WSC last year and was instrumental in bringing WSC to India.
The first ever India round held by Ryan in Delhi in Dec 2012 was a whopping success. Following this, many schools sent their teams to Dubai for the Global Round in 2013.
The India Round this year is being held in Mumbai and promises to be one of the largest ever rounds for WSC.
Danial Berdichevsky, jeremy Chumley, Nathan Levin, Burch Wang, Vivienne, Perreault were attended as jurors from USA.
