Mangalore, 17 Jul 2014: www.welcometoreason.com now marking its sixth anniversary, is adding a new dimension with the launch of ‘Monty’s Cocktails’ blog on the same site. The blog will give access to readers to the archives of writings of the website’s promoter and editor, John B Monteiro, noted author and journalist, which are now embedded in the website.
The new home-page masthead was unveiled, in the absence, due to illness of Fr Swebert D’Silva, principal of St Aloysius College by Rahul Advertisers proprietor Titus Noronha at a media meet here on Thursday July 17.
Speaking on the occasion and welcoming the new dimension to the website through the addition of Monty’s Cocktails blog, Fr. Swebert, in an emailed message, said that John Monteiro started a website at the age of 70 when people would have been happy to curl up in a state of inactivity. He has not only sustained this no-income, no-profit website for 6 years but has now added a new blog offering the whole body of his writings, including his new book on Corruption published in USA last year. I welcome this new initiative and hope that readers or viewers will take advantage by accessing and free download of his broad spectrum writings. I also urge readers to participate in the ongoing debates on issues of current and abiding value by responding to the topic-essays offered on an on-going basis.
Explaining the new dimension of the website and blog, John Monteiro said that the core of the blog would be the website his latest book, Corruption – India’s Painful Crawl to Lokpal, published in USA, priced at $ 21.5, and available for online ordering from Amazon, etc. Now the book is available on the blog for reading as well as free download. He said that the blog’s archives embed hundreds of topic-essays offered for discussion on the website during the past six years and new ones added. Besides, there are sections on Tulu Nadu institutions of more than 100 years vintage under ‘Surviving Centurions,’ profiles 70+ years achievers under ‘Super Seniors,’ and on benefits of laughter and how to run laughter clubs supported by a 12-minute video of a specially staged laughter club session under ‘Laughter Plaza.’ There are also articles on several facets of Tulu Nadu written over a period of 40 years under “Cocktail Plaza’ that all these can be freely downloaded and used.
