Udupi: Rover-Ranger Units inaugurated at St Mary’s College, Shirva

Udupi, Jul 12, 2014 : The rovers – rangers unit of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here was inaugurated at College auditorium recently.
Shirva parish priest and correspondent of St Mary’s education institutions Fr Stany Tauro presided the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Tauro said that student life is like a garden, that shines with different flowers, similarly the extra-curricular activities enrich student life, said Fr Tauro.
Udupi district scouts commissioner after inaugurated the unit, said that rover-ranger units indeed help youth to develop self confidence and personality, besides inculcate interest in social welfare activities. Edwin urged the students to make optimum use of all facilities at the unit.
The College principal Professor Rajan V N conveyed best wishes.
Udupi district guides commissioner Rajalaxmi D Shetty announced the oath to students.
Bharat Scouts and Guides Udupi district co-ordinator Nitin, unit leaders Nishant Machado and Riya Dias were present.
The unit co-ordinator Professor Sushmita welcomed the gathering. Riya Dias proposed vote of thanks. Lawrence compered the programme.
