Teachers association of Mangalore University releases seven text books

Mangalore, 11 July 2014: The Association of the teachers of Mangalore University for text book publication ‘Vikasa’ released seven kannada text books for the students of the mangalore university in the Ravindra Kala Kshetra of the University college, Hampankatta.
The guest to release the books Prof Kaalegowda Nagavaara appreciated the work of the association in publishing the text books.
He said “It is a happiest moment to see the teachers preparing text books for the students. Its easier for a teacher to teach students with the text books that he/she has prepared. With these text books efforts have been made to give the variety in kannada literature to the students.”
“We should accept our students as our friends. The present students know many aspects than what we teach in class. Hence we being the humble friends can learn a lot of things from them.”
The vice Chancellor of the Mangalore University Prof K Bhairappa assured the help of the university in the future endeavours of the teachers association.
He said “If there is no literature in the society then there is no life. The life becomes a mechanical one in the absence of it. Hence the teachers association have done a wonderful job by publishing the text books.”
“Since this would be the 25th year of the department of publication university, more activities should be made to make this memorable. I assure all kind of support to the teachers in regard to this.”, he added.
Principal of the college Prof Satyanarayana, Prof Nagappa Gowda, the executive editor, Prof. Sabeeha, the cheif editor of the books were among the present at the occasion.
The Vikasa publishes only Kannada textbooks for the students of the colleges under the university, and has published text books in the previous year for the first year students and the text books those published today are for the students of second year.
In the process of publishing the text books it has conducted several meetings of the teachers of all three districts under the university and has received appreciations from the educationists from various districts.
