St Peter’s Association Barkoor (Mumbai) celebrates feast of Patron Saint

Mumbai, 30 Jun 2014: St Peter’s Association Barkoor (Mumbai) celebrated the feast of their patron St Peter at St Vincent Palloti parish auditorium, Marol, Andheri (East) here on Sunday June 29 morning.
St Vincent the Pallotti parish priest Fr Paulo celebrated the festal Holy Mass on the occasion.
St Peter’s Association Barkoor (Mumbai) president Simon Peter Furtado presided the stage programme held after the Holy Mass.
Harry Rebello Chembur and Reji Carvalho were the chief guests distributed scholarship to talented students of the community.
Speaking on the occasion Simon said that the feast of patron saint is being organized annual in order to strengthen community bond of parishioners hailing from Barkoor and living across the metro, said Simon.
St Peter’s Association Barkoor (Mumbai) former presidents Felix Barnes, Richard Carvalho and Henry Roache, vice president Norbert Menezes, joint treasurer Ivan Martis, PRO Jolvin Furtado, governing council members Antony Gonsalves, Wilfred Sequeira, John Gonsalves, Bonnie Sequeira, Rolph Monteiro, Rejinald Crasto, Arthur Mendonca, Norman D’Souza and others were present on the occasion.
Simon welcomed the gathering. The honorary chief secretary Ivan Rebello briefed on social welfare activities of the Association. The treasurer Antony Dias presented annual account. The silver jubilee celebration Committee president Ida Roache urged the gathering to strengthen the community bond through the Association. Joylan Fernandes and secretary Eric Carvalho compered the programme. Ivan Suvares proposed vote of thanks.
