Mangalore: Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota to organize Tulu Parba - 2014 in city from Nov 29 to Dec 1

Mangalore, Jun 30, 2014 : Tulu has conveyed the splendor of Indian culture to the world. Such a rich language needs national recognition. Every Tulu native has to join in the struggle in getting a place in the eighth schedule of Indian Constitution. Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota ® can work as a forum, while collective efforts of Tulu veterans, researchers would get its due status, said Dharmapal U Devadiga, president of Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota ®.
Devadiga was speaking during the preliminary meeting held at Yenepolya College auditorium, here on Sunday June 29, ahead of forthcoming Tulu Parba – 2014, 3-day mega cultural extravaganza that was planned to be held at Pilikula Nisargadhama, here from November 29 to December 1. It was being organized to commemorate silver jubilee celebration of Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota ®.
Devadiga further said the objectives of Tulu natives can be achieved by bringing the peoples’ representatives and all Tulu brethrens in a platform with oneness in thoughts and deeds, said Devadiga.
Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota ® chief secretary Ratna Kumar M, treasurer Jayakar Shetty Indrali were present.
Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota ® honorary president Divakar S Shetty Sangli briefed info on the planned celebration.
The organizing secretary Nitte Sasidar Shetty delivered the introductory address. Kadri Navaneet Shetty further shared the plans. Professor Srinat Ujire shared the experiences of World Tulu Sammelan held a few years at Ujire.
Tulu Koota Mumbai ® convener G T Acharya, vice presidents Vishwanat U Mada including Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district Tulu associations heads A C Bhandary, Durgaprasad Rai Kumbra, Umesh Shetty Kadaba, D M Kulal, Chandrahas Devadiga Moodbidri, Harish Boloor, Dr Rajasri R Shetty, Jayanti S Bangera, Hemanat Shetty Kavu, office bearers of Tulu associations in Hassan – Sakleshpur, Mudigere, Bhadravati, Sangli, New Delhi were present and shared their views, suggestions on the occasion.
Damodar Nisarga welcomed the gathering. Dr Kishore Kumar Rai compered the programme. Leelaksha Karkera proposed vote of thanks.
