Mumbai: Theater can reform children’s personality - Padma Kodagu

Mumbai, 24 Jun 2014: The children’s theater can enhance self confidence among the children. It also acts as a method to treat flaws. The need of the hour is to organize theater camps in all schools, which would contribute for personality development, said the renowned theater director Padma Kodagu.
Padma was speaking during the interactive session that was organized by Kannada department of Mumbai University (MU) in association with Kannada Kala Kendra Mumbai, at Ranade Bhavan, Kalina campus, Santacruz (East) here on Tuesday June 24.
The education is incomplete without theater training as it balances the flaws. The theater indeed helps an individual to reform, said the renowned theater director and theater expert Ba Suma Kodagu.
MU head of department of Kannada Dr G N Upadhya in his introductory address said that Kannada department has encouraged for theater study. It has published the works of Chiramuri Sheshagiri Rao. The research has been done on plays by playwrights Masti, Bendre, Karnad and others, said Dr Upadhya.
Dr Mamata Rao, Veena Shastry, Shyamala Prakash, Madhusudan Rao and others partaken in the interactive session with theater artiste Mohan Marnad.
Kannada Kala Kendra president B Balachandra Rao welcomed the gathering. Madhusudan Rao proposed vote of thanks. Dr Poornima S Shetty compered the programme.
