M’lore: Childline organizes Open House Programme to create general awareness in city

Mangalore, 20 Jun 2014: The city’s Childline organized Open House programme, in order to create general awareness at Anganawady Centre, Babuji Nagar, 2nd Kodikal, Ashok Nagar, here on Friday June 20.
The children inaugurated the programme by displaying Childline handbills here on Friday morning.
Childline co-ordinator Sampat Katti in his introductory address said that the children in trouble can call Childline – 1098 twenty-four-hours. He also explained the key aspects of Child Rights and the working of Childline.
Kodical Primary School headmaster Jayappa Adyapady offered information on child abuse and the importance of education. He also advised the parents to be vigilant on their children as not to become victims of drug abuse.
The women and child welfare department Anganawady centre animator Jnaneshwari urged the parents to take care of the general well being of their children.
Childline activist Jyoti D’Souza presented the report on health hazards caused by open drains in the locality.
The district nodal officer Yogish Malligemadu, child labor eradication campaign state co-ordinator Basavaraj Hulagannavar, Anganavadi animators Indira and Vanita, the parents of children, students, self-help-group members were present.
Babuji Jagjeevan Ram Seva Sangh members assisted in the programme.
