Mumbai: Akhila Bharat Tulu Okkoota convenes preliminary meeting on Tulu Parba - 2014

Mumbai, Jun 16, 2014 : Akhila Bharat Tulu Okkoota (ABTO), Mumbai Committee convened preliminary meeting ahead of Tulu Parba – 2014 that was planned to commemorate their silver jubilee celebrations, at the auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West) here on Sunday June 15.
ABTO president Dharmapal U Devadiga presided the meeting here on Sunday morning.
ABTO organizing secretary Nitte Sasidar Shetty, Tulu Koota – Moodbidri president Chandrahas Devadiga, Tulu Koota – Mumbai president Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, convener G T Acharya, vice president Vishwanat U Mada were present at the dais.
Dharmapal in his presidential address said that ABTO will be organizing Tulu Parba – 2014, 3-day Tulu cultural extravaganza to mark its silver jubilee celebration at the direction of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadikari Dr Veerendra Heggade at Pilikula Nisargadhama, Mangalore from Saturday November 29 to Monday December 1. Meanwhile, the united efforts will be made to pursue the union government in order to include Tulu in eighth schedule of Indian Constitution, said Dharmapal.
Nitte Sasidar Shetty in his introductory address said that the natives of Tulunadu settled in Mumbai are striving to promote mother tongue Tulu more than in homeland. There are many benefits in including Tulu in eighth schedule of Indian Constitution, said Sasidar.
L V Amin, Harish Kumar M Shetty, Nityanand D Kotian, Narendra Rai M B, Moodushedde Vishwanat Shetty, Shyam N Shetty, Damodar Shetty Iruvail, Jagdish Shetty Iroli, Surendra Kumar Hegde, Dayanand Bontra Baroda, advocate B Subash Shetty, Dr Bharat Kumar Polipu, Karnoor Mohan Rai, Usha Hegde, Hiriyadka Mohandas, Satish N Bangera and K D Shetty Nerul and others shared their suggestions for the success of Tulu Parba.
Tulu Koota Mumbai deputy convener Ashok Sasihitlu, honorary treasurer Mundkoor Surendra Salian, joint treasurer Tonse Sanjeev Poojary, advisor Dr Sunita M Shetty and others were also present.
