Mangalore: Monsoon gains momentum - Heavy Downpours witnessed in city

Mangalore, 12 Jun 2014: The heavy downpours witnessed in across the city as a sign that monsoon is gaining momentum on Wednesday June 11 evening.

 
The low-lying areas were inundated in the city as minor culverts were overflowing with storm water.

 

 

 
A few trees were uprooted on the roads, which were chopped off and cleared by city’s fire brigade personnel.

 
The traffic came to standstill for a while as heavy downpours continued to lash for nearly one hour.
