B’lore: All India Football Tourney for Under-14 on Jul 26 & 27

Bangalore, 4 Jun 2014 : With the FIFA Under -17 World Cup taking place in India in 2017, young footballers in the country will get an opportunity to show their talent in the forthcoming All India Under-14 Football Tournament at the lush green football stadium here from Saturday July 26 to Sunday July 27.
The main objective of the tournament is to unearth new football players from the planned tournament. It’s also felt that the sporting idea will go a long way in promoting the game in India.
Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) president A R Khaleel, who was also present lauded the initiative and felt that many players from Karnataka can now try to get into the Indian team if they show their talent.
The state sports minister Abhaychandra Jain who was supposed to attend the press meet could not attend due to his last minute change of plans.
The first of its kind tournament organised by metro-based Denz Foundation will have at least 64 teams from all over the country taking part in the 5-a-side competition.
Total prize money of Rs1 lac is being given to the semi finalists and finalist teams apart from trophies and medals.
Individual players also will receive awards at the finals. All matches will be played at Bangalore Football Stadium and officiated by referees of KSFA.
