Udupi: Diabetic Patients vulnerable for all ailments; Dr Nayak

Udupi, May 21, 2014 : At the joint aegis of district blindness eradication unit, Rotary Club International (RCI) – Shirva, village cleanliness Committee and Shirva gram panchayat, free eye checkup camp was held at community health centre, Shirva, near here on Tuesday May 20.
The retired surgeon and RCI – Shirva designated president Dr N S Shetty Padoor inaugurated the dental checkup camp here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the district eye surgeon and district blindness eradication officer Dr Nityanand Nayak said that it’s essential that everyone had to go for routine dental checkup like health checkup. The diabetic patients are vulnerable to complications of heart, brain, kidney and eyes. He advised diabetic patients to undergo eye checkup at least once a year.
RCI district former assistant governor and RTI district president B Pundalika Marate presided the programme.
Shirva gram panchayat vice president Deepika Shalet, dentist Dr Santosh Kumar Bailoor were present.
The community health centre medical officer Dr Vasudev Upadhyaya delivered the introductory address. Roopali rendered the prayers. The health assistant Guruprasad welcomed the gathering. The health assistant Nagayya Hiremat compered the programme. Anjaneya proposed vote of thanks.
