Abu Dhabi: Indian Islamic Centre Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Abu Dhabi, 04 May 2014: Indian Islamic Centre (IIC) celebrated its fortieth anniversary at the IIC main hall, here on Friday May 2.
UAE minister for youth and community development Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan inaugurated the programme..
Kerala minister for industries and information technology P K Kunhalikutty and Indian Ambassador to UAE T P Seetharam were the guests of honour.
Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan in his inaugural speech congratulated IIC for their service towards the community. He also appreciated the hard work and dedication of Indians in UAE. He wished success to all the members of IIC.
Sheikh Nahyan felicitated the recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award – 2014 Dr Shamsheer on the same occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, minister P K Kunhalikutty said, ‘Keralites are very hard working and they are very much concerned about their homeland. It is a privilege to be here to take part in the fortieth anniversary of IIC Abu Dhabi,’ said minister Kunhalikutty.
The Ambassador T P Seetharam said that the IIC is doing yeomen service towards the community which is praiseworthy.
UAE Exchange COO Sudheer Shetty and SFC chairman K Muralidharan were also felicitated during the programme.
Indian Social and Cultural Centre (ISC) president Natarajan; general secretary Vinod, Taha Medical Centre chairman Dr Taha, IIC Abu Dhabi president P Bava Haji and Asian School chairman Saleem Haji were also present.
The programme began with an invocation. M P Rasheed welcomed the gathering. Usman K presented the annual report and briefed the activities of IIC. Shukur Ali proposed the vote of thanks.
