Udupi: TB one among dreaded disease controlled by proper medication; Leo

Udupi, 27 Mar 2014: Tuberculosis (TB) is one among dreaded disease which can be curtailed by proper medication at the early stages by creating mass awareness, said Rotary Club International (RCI) Shirva president Leo Noronha.
Leo was speaking was speaking after inaugurating International TB Day that was organized jointly by RCI Shirva and health department at community health centre, Shirva, near here on Wednesday March 26.
The community health centre medical officer Dr Vasudev Upadhyaya in his presidential address said that March 24 is significant in the history of mankind, because on that day the renowned scientist Robert Cock discovered the TB virus that is taking the toll on several lives. The early detection of disease and proper medication can restore the health of victims, said Dr Upadhyaya.
The health centre dentist Dr Santosh Kumar, children’s nursery animator Shanta was present on the dais.
The representatives of social welfare organizations, Asha – health assistants, children’s nursery teachers were present on the occasion.
The senior health assistant Nagayya Hiremat welcomed the gathering. Susheela rendered the prayers. The junior health assistant Anjaneya proposed vote of thanks.
