Outside the church, women wished each other and exchanged the greetings. Youth and children also shared greetings with their mothers making the Mothers’ Day a memorable one.
All those who attended the mass were served with sweets and soft drinks.
In general Mothers’ Day is being celebrated on the second Sunday of May or on the Fourth Sunday of Lent which is also known as Mothering Sunday.
Mothering Sunday was originally a time when people returned to the church in which they were baptized or where they attended services when they were children. This meant that families were reunited as adults returned to the towns and villages where they grew up. In time, it became customary for young people who were working as servants in large houses, to be given a holiday on Mothering Sunday. On this day children give presents, flowers, and home-made cards to their mothers as a token of thanks for their love and care.
Nice to see smile from mothers and children. Happy mothers day......
