Mumbai: Dilapidated building Collapses in Vakola, Santacruz (E); 3 Dead

Mumbai, 14 March 2014:  Three persons living in nearby slum died when a dilapidated building located in Yashwant Nagar at Vakola, Santacruz (East) near here collapsed on Friday March 14 morning.  Five persons were wounded who are admitted in a local hospital.


 
One among the eyewitness, Billawar Association Mumbai ® manager Vasant Kotian who rushed to rescue a few people who were trapped in the rubbles and transporting the injured to the nearby hospital.

 

 

 

Thirty-five-year-old Suchet, a native of Gujarat who was trapped for nearly 3 hours luckly survived during the collapse of forty-year-old dilapidated building.  Brahanmumbai Mahanagar Palika had issued notices to the occupants in order to vacate their homes and there were none living in the said building, said the eyewitnesses.
