Mangalore: Bollywood Comedy King Johnny Lever steals show at ’Rang’ audio release

Mangalore, Mar 10, 2014 : The audio of ‘Rang,’ Tulu movie was released in a glittering function held at Nehru maidan, here on Sunday March 9.

The bollywood famous comedy artiste Johnny Lever along with Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, Suratkal MLA Moideen Bava and A J Shetty Hospital and Research Centre chairman A J Shetty and others released the audio that has 5 songs.  Johny Lever also enthralled the audience with his distinct comedies.

 

 

The movie has been produced by Devadas Pandeshwar and Pramila D Pandeshwar has 1 song featuring Johnny Lever, for which the shooting was held here during December 2013.

Johnny Lever made a unique entry to the stage, with renowned magician Ganesh Kudroli making him appear from nowhere. As soon as he landed onto the stage, Johnny, in his classic style said in Tulu, ‘Am I in Kudla?’ much to the delight of the audience.

Speaking further in Tulu, Johnny narrated his long association with Mangalore and particularly with the Tulu language and said, ‘I speak Tulu since childhood.  I am happy to be part of this Tulu movie. People of Tulunadu have given me so much love; they say ’Johnny is namma jana,’ said Johnny.

Johnny also said that he enjoyed every bit of his role in the movie.

‘Today technology has advanced in leap and bounds. It is difficult to make people laugh, because jokes are so widely accessible on the internet. If you tell a joke to a kid he will say it’s an old joke that he has heard before. However, this movie, ’Rang’ has loads of humor,’ said Johnny.

Later, Johnny continued to crack jokes on mobile phones, technology and etc, and the gathering enjoyed every bit of it.

Johnny added that Tulu cinema has a wider audience across the world.  He urged others from undivided Dakshina Kannada district also to watch the movie. He conveyed his best wishes to all the artistes and crew of the movie.

The city’s popular dance group New Ocean Kids and others presented mesmerizing dances on the occasion.

The trailer of the movie was screened during the programme.

One of the highlights of the evening was a performance by ’Rang’ movie’s lead actors Arjun Kapikad and Deekshitha Acharya to the title song of the movie.

RJ Arpith, VJ Vineeth and VJ Rahul compered the event.

The movie has been directed by Vismaya Vinayak and Suhan under the banner of Sri Kateeleshwari Combines. Arjun Kapikad and Deekshitha Acharya played the lead roles. Manikanth Kadri is the music director.

Kannada music director V Manohar who was present on the occasion lauded the event and said that even in Sandalwood, the release ceremonies of movies are not held on such a grand scale as this.
