Canadian International School celebrates Festival of Arts

Bangalore,05 March 2014: The Canadian International School (CIS) Bangalore organized its annual Festival of the Arts with many interesting activities and performances. The event, a hub of creative synergy was designed to create a festive event experience and community celebration. The fair had visual & performing arts, puppet show, drama performance, art exhibition, workshops on traditional Indian Dance and many more interesting events.

 
The chief guest of the event was Dr. Benny Prasad, renowned instrumental guitarist, holds the WORLD RECORD of - Fastest to travel to 245 nations in 6 years, 6 months & 22 days. He has travelled all around the world performing to huge audiences. He has performed before presidents and parliaments, before the crowds of 2007 military world games, 2006 FIFA world cup and the 2004 Olympic Games etc.

 
It was a great joy to have a special guest give an inspirational talk to our student body sharing his personal story of perseverance and triumph through his own personal faith story. He was able to share some of his life accomplishments such as holding a world record.  He is the inventor of the "BENTAR" which incorporates a 6 string guitar, a harp, and built in bongo drums.  It was an absolute joy to have Benny share his story and musical talents with us, said a school representative.

Arts in education is important! At CIS, we celebrated the Visual and Performing Arts with the 2014 edition of the ’Festival of the Arts’. A feast it was for the senses as students, teachers and parents alike  enjoyed workshops and performances, live theatre, music celebrations and more Long live the Arts! – said Shane Kells, Head of School.

 

 
Hug A Tree performance was amazing! I was very impressed with everything; the staging, the performance, the message they were conveying. (Better than a lot of amateur theatre I’ve paid for!)- said a parent, Karen Nakamura.

 
Truly a labor of love. Weeks and weeks of hard work put in both by the kids and Lawrence. Did come across as an effortless flow.  Not easy to have close to a hundred kids go up on stage to perform.  Yes, and all excelled, said a teacher Ms. Praneeta.
