Mumbai: Indian Navy Mourns Death of 2 Top Officers in Submarine Mishap

Mumbai, 1 Mar 2014: A wreath laying Ceremony was held at Indian Naval Hospital ship Asvini in honor of Lieutenant Commander Kapish Singh Muwal and Lieutenant Commander Manoranjan Kumar here on Friday February 28.
Wreaths were laid by Vice Admiral Shekhar Sinha, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command as well as other Flag Officers and all present in the ceremony.

Vice Admiral Shekhar Sinha met the families of the deceased officers and expressed his deepest condolences to the brave heroes who had made the ultimate sacrifice in fighting the fire on the submarine.
Both officers were from Electrical Branch of the Indian Navy and were fully qualified in dealing with the exigency.

My deepest sympathies to the bereaved families of Lt. Commander Kapish Singh Muval and Lt. Commander Manoranjan Kumar. May their souls rest in eternal peace. It is tragic and I feel sorry such young lives lost. My only hope that such tragedies do not happen again. |
