Udupi: Road safety Week observed in Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle

Udupi, Feb 3, 2014 : As part of the Road safety Week, Shirva Police Station, Lions Club-Moodubelle and NSS Unit of St. Lawrence Degree College jointly organized blood and eye check up camp for around 50 drivers at the Lionbs Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle on Sunday 2 February 2014 from 10 to 1 pm.
The inauguration of the camp was conducted in the presence of Ashok P-SI Shirva Police Station, Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes-Parish Priest of Moodubelle, Dr. Rashmi Lobo, MS (ORTHO) from Prasad Netralaya, Udupi, Dr. Krishna Prasad-Medical Officer of Pernankila Primary health Centre, Vishwanath Naik, RTO Vehicle Inspector, Commodore Jerome Castelino, Commodore Valentine Sequeira, Vinod Castelino-President of Lions Club and Elias Lobo-Secretary of Lions Club, Moodubelle and Mrs. Kusuma Makwan-Programme Officer of NSS Unit of St. Lawrence Degree College. The camp was formally inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais. DYSP Annamali also paid a visit during the camp.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, VishwanathNaik,RTO Vehicle Inspector said that it is the responsibility of all who use the road to follow the rules and regulations of the traffic. A number of accidents can be prevented by strictly following the rules and regulations. The drivers especially should maintain good health and should regularly check up their blood pressure and eye sight.
The NSS Volunteers recited the prayer; Commodore Jerome Castelino welcomed the guests; Ashok P, SI Shirva proposed the vote of thanks and Devdas Hebbar compeered the programme.
