Abu Dhabi: Colourful cultural programs marked the 10th Anniversary of Bishop Paul Hinder

Abu Dhabi, 04 Feb 2014:  A colourful Cultural presentation of programs by various parishioners of U.A.E. marked the 10th Anniversary of Episcopal Ordination of HE Bishop Paul Hinder OFM Cap in grandeur.  The 10th Jubilee Celebrations were held at St. Joseph’s Cathedral of Abu Dhabi on 30th January 2014 with the concelebrating of mass at 7.00pm.

The Holy Eucharist was concelebrated by all parish priests of U.A.E. Parishes namely, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujaira and joined by assistance priests and administrators along with Archbishop HE Peter Rajic, Apostolic Nuncio, HE Bishop Camillo Balin MCCJ, Kuwait.

After the Holy EucharistMassgrand cultural celebrations were held which entertained the large faithful attended the celebrations.   The cultural celebrations began with a short prayer and followed by welcome by Abu Dhabi Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Savarimuthu OFM Cap.  In his address he highlighted various achievements of Bishop Paul Hinder, his selfless service to the Diocese.  Due to exhaustion during his mission work he was hospitalized once and doctors had advised good rest but within a few days Bishop was up and working.  He cared less for his health but worked and dedicated himself for the welfare of the diocese.  He was applauded for his relentless service to the parishioners and diocese as a whole and he said “ abishop who never rests “.  Also spoke on the occasion were Archbishop Peter Rajic and Bishop Camillo Balin and highlighted his humble nature, hard work and dedication to the diocese and the church working day and night in Lord’s Vineyard. 

 

On the occasion a souvenir wasreleased Archbishop HE Peter Rajic which was presented by Conrad D’Souza (President, Parish Council) and then distributed to HE Bishop Camilo Balin and Rev. Fr. Savarimuthu OFM Cap.  The souvenir contained a brief history of Bishop Paul Hinder and messages from Archbishop Peter Rajic, Bishop Camilo Balimn and by all Parish Priests of the diocese. 

The magical cultural programs presented by all the parishioners of the diocese entertained the large faithful present that included a tableau, folk dances; Filipino Cultural dances all were wonderfully presented. 

Prior to conclusion of Jubilee Celebrations, HE Bishop Paul Hinder acknowledged appreciation from all the bishops, parish priests and thanked each and every one for his 10th anniversary a grand success and blessed them all.  All the parish priests and well-wishers presented Bishop with gifts as a token of appreciation.
